Stockholm Design Days 2026

Bla Station launches four clever additions at Stockholm Design Days 2026

Swedish innovators Bla Station once again delivered the goods to Stockholm Design Days this February, expanding three of their most celebrated families with new pieces that prove sustainable design doesn't need to compromise on character—or comfort. Here are the headlines:

VILLHEM goes lower (and higher)

New: Low-back armchair, footstool, and table

Villhem—Swedish for "I want to go home!"—now includes low-back armchairs and footstools in both compression-moulded wood and - our favourite - Supersoft versions (internal steel, nozag springs, leather upholstery). Every element upgradeable and fully separable. The new Villhem Table adds precision frames with square, rectangular, or round tops.

Nice details: Exposed zinc-cast joints, clean lines, modular upgradeability: Villhem is honest construction that doesn't age.

RUTAN: RUT's nimble sibling

Updated: Magnetic modular system with optional side tables

RUTAN (sounds like WU-TANG) shares upholstered seating modules with its oak-footed sister RUT, but RUTAN runs on slender steel legs. Magnets snap standalone modules into sofas, corners, or benches. Need permanence? Lock with shared legs. Need flexibility later? Add legs, go modular again. Choose from coloured legs, castors, and legs that extend into integrated side tables. Nozag springs, moulded polyurethane and endless textile/leather/colour combinations.

What we love: RUTAN is reconfigurable and flexible. Adapt spaces daily or seasonally without replacing furniture.

ABLE TABLE: the Able family gets serious about work

New: Full-height table (72cm) and compact workstation

ABLE's signature die-cast zinc knot meets steel tubing in a table that works everywhere—office, dining room, home. Four frame lengths, each with two tabletop options. The compact single-person workstation nails the focused-work brief. Original ABLE coffee table (2025) continues with two heights, optional castors, multiple materials. Strong character without the drama.

Why it works: Refined without being precious. Strong character that doesn't overpower. Office, dining room, boardroom, home—it just fits. ABLE is a collection designed to circular design principles.

FRANKFURTER: a nod to the past, with four feet in the present

The name of Johan Ansander latest chair is a nod to the past, but the expression is contemporary. FRANKFURTER is a chair that doesn't try to be more than it is, and that is precisely why it becomes something special. Frankfurter is robust, durable and made to be used, inspired by the type of everyday chairs that emerged in the mid-1930s furniture that could withstand life, movement and a little rough handling, without losing its shape or function. A perfect blend of natural materials, gentle curves - and a compact form to suit the hustle and bustle of urban café culture.

All four collections embody Bla Station's core sustainability philosophy: function, quality, and longevity. Not greenwashing—just clever design that lasts.
